Public Outreach
I am a co-coordinator for Western’s Anthropology Outreach team, which focuses on improving public understanding of archaeology and biological, cultural, and linguistic anthropology. As a team, we work to provide accessible educational materials related to all fields of anthropology and archaeology and offer interactive learning experiences for young students who are passionate about STEM and the humanities.
Learning how to translate my knowledge to younger groups of students and learners has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences as a graduate student. I’m happy to share some fun activities and events I have participated in and led over the last few years. Hover over the pictures below to check them out!
One of my most significant accomplishments was hosting Western’s High School Anthropology Day in 2023. We host multiple schools from the London area to come and learn directly from experts in the field, participate in interactive workshops, and engage in hands-on activities in all four sub-fields of anthropology. Check out the video to see what it’s all about!
